Centre

Bib: letter “C” on it.
Partner: Other teams Centre
Where can they go? Everywhere EXCEPT for the two half circles at the end of the court.
Centre starts in the circle and when the whistle blows tries to pass to Wing Attack or Goal Attack. Centre tries to get the ball to the people in the half circles.
To be Centre you have to be fit and a fast runner. It doesn’t matter if you are a short person or if you are tall. You just have to be able to be aggressive and run fast.

Wing Attack
Bib: “WA” on it.
Partner: Other team’s Wing Defence
Where can they go? Can NOT go in either of the half circles, or the third closest to the other team’s goal.
Wing Attack starts on the line and tries to get the Centre pass. They then have to do the best they can to get the ball in the half circle.
To be Wing Attack you don’t have to be particularly tall or short. It is good to be fast and aggressive and good at catching and passing.

Wing Defence
Bib: has “WD” on it.
Partner: Other team’s Wing Attack
Where can they go? Two thirds, not the one nearest the goal that you score in, and they also can’t go in the half circle.
Wing Defence tries to stop the Wing Attack from getting the Centre pass. They try for the whole game to get the ball away from their partner, Wing Attack, and get the ball to people that can go nearer the goal.
To be Wing Defence height doesn’t really matter, though it helps to be taller than your partner. You have to be really determined and quite aggressive and good at intercepting.

Goal Attack
Bib: “GA” on it.
Partner: Other team’s Goal Defence
Where can they go? Goal Attack can go in two thirds, just not the one closest to the other team’s goal. They can go in the half circle and shoot goals.
Goal Attack can get the Centre pass, but most often they stay near-ish the goal especially when the ball comes near so they can shoot goals.
Goal Attacks find it easier if they are tall, obviously because it means they are closer to the goal when they shoot, but there are some great shorter Goal Attacks too.

Goal Defence
Bib: Has “GD” on it.
Partner: Other team’s Goal Attack.
Where can they go? Inside the goal circle to help defend their goal, NOT SHOOT. They can go up to the centre third and can not shoot goals.
Goal Defence tries to stop goal attack from receiving the centre pass. Like any defending position they stick with their partner and try to stop them getting the ball.
Goal defence find it easier if they are tall so they can defend more easily. They should be fast and good at intercepting.

Goal Shoot
Bib: Has “GS” on it.
Partner: Goal Keep
Where can they go? Goal Shoots have to stay inside the half circle so they can shoot easily when the ball gets to them.
Goal Shoot has to get the ball from someone and shoot goals.
Goal shoots find it easier if they are tall, obviously because that gets them just that little bit closer to the goal. To be a successful Goal Shoot you should have a good eye and be good at shooting goals.

Goal KeepBib: has GK on it.
Partner: Goal Shoot
Where can they go? They can go only in the other team’s goal half circle.
Goal Keep has to stop Goal Shoot from getting the ball and shooting goals.
Goal Keeps find it easier if they are tall because it makes it easier to defend their partner. They need to be quick thinking and be able to quickly snatch the ball.
